The Dutchman told 'LFCTV' that the Portuguese international's reputation would not intimidate him. He said: ''He [Ronaldo] has been scoring goals for fun over the last few years and he has a lot of quality obviously.''
''He is one of the best players in the world at the moment but I need to deal with him like the rest of the team needs to deal with their other players, who have a lot of quality too. We need to be ready but that's part of the game.''
Van Dijk also noted that he has little anxiety building up to the match in Kiev, but more a feeling of excitement. He said: ''They will be aware of our team as well. It's going to be a very good game, both teams have a lot of quality.''
He added: ''I'm looking forward to it but the most important thing for us as a team. as Liverpool, we need to look at ourselves and play our game rather than doing different things.''
