With Robert Lewandowski's rumoured move to Real Madrid reportedly getting closer and closer to becoming a reality, Bayern Munich have been forced to begin their hunt for a replacement for the centre-forward.
The German side have turned to the transfer market to look for a man who can fill the boots of the Polish forward, a difficult task given that Lewandowski is one of the most potent strikers in world football. Bayern have done their best to convice him to stay, but according to 'Mundo Deportivo', Madrid have already reached an agreement with the player over a summer move.
Therefore, after surveying Europe's top leagues, two targets have been identified. The first, unsurprisingly, is Harry Kane, one of the most highly rated strikers in Europe. The second is Timo Werner, the RB Leipzig man who is tipped to be the future of German football.
However, neither player will be easy to get hold of. Kane is one of the most wanted players in football, and Tottenham are apparently unwilling to sell their top scorer for anything less than a fee in the region of €200million, a price that is representative of the bonkers state of the football transfer market.
Werner, meanwhile, has declared that he will still be a Leipzig player next season, commiting himself to the team that has nurtured his talent for at least one more season. Furthermore, Leipzig's riches mean they will have no obligation to sell their star, and will be unlikely to want to hand over one of their best players to their biggest title rivals.
