Reports in recent days have linked the Spaniard with a move to West Ham United, with there understood to be a good relationship between Benitez and the West Ham board after he almost took over at the club back in 2015.
West Ham co-owner David Sullivan announced on Thursday that the club are close to sealing a deal to bring a "high calibre" manager to the club, but English news outlet 'Sky Sports News' reports that the 'Magpies' are not concerned about losing their boss.
According to them, the club believe that Benitez is more than happy to extend his stay in the North East, providing he is given assurances over the backing that he will receive in the transfer market.
