The English side trained at Anfield on Monday, as they step up their preparations for the Champions League final on Saturday. They were boosted by the presence of Emre Can, who trained with the rest of the squad, seemingly reaching fitness after nearly three months out with a back injury. Adam Lallana also trained, along with youngsters Curtis Jones and Conor Masterson.
Can travelled with the rest of the squad to Marbella recently, where they had a warm-weather fitness camp. Speaking to the press ahead of the final, manager Jurgen Klopp said that he was surprised by the German midfielder's progress.
"Ten days ago, I didn't think it was possible that he could do what he did today, that he could do what he did in Marbella," he said.
"It looked good. It is really positive but we have to wait until tomorrow. The door is open. It is really nice to have him back in the group. He is really desperate to be part of it. We will see."
Can is widely expected to leave Liverpool on a free-transfer in summer, with Juventus tipped as his destination, but Klopp is not interested in this at the moment.
"No clue, not important at the moment, to be honest," the coach said when asked about the move. "In this moment, he is 100 per cent here. That is the only thing I'm interested in. I really have no idea."
