FT: Chelsea 2 - 0 Southampton - Chelsea will face United in the FA Cup final, after two second half goals saw off Southampton. A dull first half was followed by a rapid start to the second period by Chelsea, who took the lead through a lovely 46th minute goal from Olivier Giroud. Southampton tried for an equaliser, but saw their hopes crushed in the 82nd minute when Alvaro Morata nodded home from the bench, sealing a 2-0 victory.
  • 90'
Five minutes of added time to be played. Chelsea are inches away from the final.
  • 86'
Close again! Morata has a shot saved by McCarthy! And then Caballero gets a hand on the ball to stop Charlie Austin scoring! End to end stuff at Wembley.
  • 84'
Close from both sides! Charlie Austin hits the post down one end, then Chelsea go up the other end and Yoshida is forced to clear off the line. A lively end to the game is in store as Southampton throw bodies forward.
  • 80'
Goal! Chelsea! Morata! Instant impact! from the substitute, who scores one minute after coming on, heading past McCarthy to end hopes of a comeback. He rose high to nod in Cesar Azpilicueta's cross, and unless there's a major upset Chelsea are on their way to the final.
  • 79'
And the last change of the game from Conte, who switches Giroud for Morata.
  • 78'
Mark Hughes makes his final sub, moving to a four man defence as Gabbiadini replaces Bednarek.
  • 76'
Second change for Chelsea, as Cesc Fabregas is replaced by Pedro.
  • 75'
Chelsea nearly score up the other end, as McCarthy is forced to make a good save to palm a powerful shot from Eden Hazard over the bar.
  • 72'
CLOSE! How on earth has that not gone in? Caballero is pressured by Charlie Austin as he leaps to catch a deflected shot. He fumbles it, then Austin tries to force it past the line, before the keeper flings it away. The referee blows for a foul on Caballero, which seems a bit harsh. Did it cross the line?
  • 70'
Chelsea go for the spectacular as Hazard puts in a rabona cross, which Moses tries to scissor kick in. The defender doesn't make contact, however, and it's cleared.
  • 67'
Austin heads just wide of the post from a corner, and appeals for handball after the ball seemingly glanced off Giroud's arm. Nothing is given, though.

Eden Hazard draws another foul, and gets another Saints player in the book. Hoedt is the one shown yellow this time, after diving in on the Belgian attacker.
  • 63'
And now Conte makes his first sub. Bakayoko is coming on, in place of Willian. The Brazilian isn't happy about it, walking off slowly then heading straight down the tunnel. The Chelsea boss is clearly looking to protect his lead, and has made a change to counter Mark Hughes' offensive subs.
  • 62'
Mark Hughes needs to shake things up here, and he's making a double substitution to try and change the game. Dusan Tadic and Nathan Redmond are coming on to replace Shane Long and Hojbjerg.
  • 57'
Olivier Giroud looks to be in serious pain after a challenge from Romeu catches his ankle. It was a fair tackle from Romeu, but the follow through seems to have hurt Giroud, who is on the sidelines receiving treatment.
  • 56'
Lemina is shown yellow after fouling Hazard.

GOAL! Chelsea! Giroud! Cesc Fabregas dinks a ball over the top and Eden Hazard controls well, laying off to Giroud. The Frenchman does superbly, evading three or four challenges, before poking it past McCarthy. That's his third goal in two weeks against Southampton, who must hate the sight of the well-groomed forward.

Chelsea get the game underway again.
  • 45'
HT: Chelsea 0 - 0 Southampton - Nothing to shout about in the first half. Chelsea came out of the blocks fast, and have dominated, but haven't put together many concrete chances to challenge McCarthy. Southampton looks unthreatening, and haven't played to the strengths of having two strikers up top. They look to need a tactical shake up at half-time.
  • 44'
With half-time approaching, Southampton will be more than happy to make it to the changing room with the score at 0-0. Chelsea will be frustrated that they haven't been able to make their pressure count in the final third, despite their possession.

Yoshida is shown yellow for a late challenge on Giroud.
  • 39'
Fabregas dinks a little box for Giroud, and the Frenchman goes for a weird little flick with his foot. The ball goes straight up, and Giroud gets another bite at the cherry with an acrobatic effort, but it's wide.
  • 34'
Not a huge amount of clear cut chances from Chelsea here, but they're dominating so far. Southampton look disjointed, maybe due to their two striker system, and haven't got out of their own half much.
  • 33'
Azpilicueta comes close from a corner, as he gets a flick-on the ball with his head at the near post. If another Chelsea player had got a touch it would have gone in, but it goes just wide of the far post.
  • 31'
Cedric produces a few winces from the crowd as he takes a powerful strike from Willian to the head. He seems to be fine, though, and he plays on.
  • 30'
Southampton's plan seems to be to sit back, and then hit it upfield for Shane Long to run onto on the break. The Irishman is sitting ahead of Charlie Austin, whose job looks to be to try and knock it on for his strike partner.
  • 25'
First shot on target from Saints, as Lemina hits one at Caballero. It's nothing special, though, and it doesn't bother the keeper.
  • 21'
After a frantic start from Chelsea, it's all calmed down a bit at Wembley, with neither side putting together any meaningful attack.
  • 18'
Southampton have weathered the storm, and have enjoyed a bit more possession in the last five minutes.
  • 14'
The Brazilian strikes it, but it's just over the bar from the set-piece expert.
  • 13'
It's all Chelsea so far, and the Blues are ramping the pressure up. Kante wins a free-kick just outside the box, and Willian is standing over it.
  • 12'
Yoshida makes a vital challenge to prevent Hazard from shooting just yards out.
  • 8'
Willian comes close to going one on one with the keeper, dashing past Yoshida on the byline in the Southampton box, but he loses his balance at the key moment.
  • 7'
Woodwork! Some incredible pace on the break from Eden Hazard, who dashes away from the chasing defenders. He lays it off for Willian, who cuts inside and shoots, glancing the bar with his powerful effort.
  • 5'
Hazard plays a nice one-two with Giroud, before spinning away from Mario Lemina. He fizzes a shot towards goal, and it's just over the bar. Good effort from the Belgian, and McCarthy wouldn't have been able to stop it had it been on target.
