Arthur agrees to Barca move

Arthur became a big name over the course of 2017, with the youngster capping off a fine year by winning the Copa Libertadores against Lanus and being named Man-of-the-Match in the Final.

Now, according to the aforementioned source, the midfielder has given the thumbs up to the Catalan side to complete a summer swoop, with the player set to remain in Brazil on loan.

Barca are keen to agree a deal sooner rather than later, in the knowledge that a strong World Cup could see that player's value soar.

Arthur is believed to be on 'Seleçao' boss Tito's list of potential midfielders for the tournament, for a Brazil side that is hoping to return to its past glories and bring home the World Cup trophy.

Despite his tender years, Arthur's performances have already shown a great deal of maturity to go along with his undeniable talent.

Barca are hoping to agree a deal worth €25m with Gremio, despite the player's release clause being set at twice that figure, and are prepared to allow the 21-year-old to remain with Gremio next season on loan in order for him to continue his development.

Plenty of European heavyweights have been linked with moves for Arthur, including the likes of Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Manchester United, but with 'Mundo Deportivo' reporting that the player has already agreed a deal with Barca there only looks to be one winner.
