Into the knockout stages and many teams begin to dream of lifting the coveted trophy in Kiev, but that won't be until May 26, 2018. First, they must make it there and that is no easy task.
The teams will know their first opponents in the knockout stages after the draw set to be held in Nyon at 12:00 CET. Two seeding pots will be formed, one consisting of group winners and another of runners-up.
Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham will all be in the draw, with only the former failing to top their group. Teams will not be paired with sides they have faced in the group stages or members of the same footballing federation, meaning English sides will not face each other just yet.
Group champions will travel for the first leg, which will take place on 13-14 and 20-21 of February. They will have the advantage of playing the return fixture at home, on 6-7 and 13-14 of March.
The most likely pairing is that between Chelsea and Barcelona, with over 40 per cent odds of the Blues facing the Catalan giants in the last 16.
