With the first round of fixtures in the Champions League concluded, the Team of the Week was revealed by the competition itself, based on the point-system empoyed by UCL Fantasy, a platform where users can put together their teams.
Among the eleven best players of Gameweek 1, Lionel Messi is the most notable absentee. Despite his extraordinary performance against Juventus at the Camp Nou, scoring two goals and displaying a wide array of skills and magical moves, he has not been included in the team of the week.
Cristiano Ronaldo, on the other hand, is part of the fantasy team's strike force, following his brace against Apoel. The ideal XI of the week in the Champions League is made up by: Alisson, Zappacosta, Stones, Ramos, Azpilicueta, Fellaini, Pardo, Kimmich, Ronaldo, Kane and Cavani.
