The player in question is 21-year-old Andreas Christensen, who made headlines everywhere aften joining Chelsea as a youngster from Brondy and reportedly earning £20,000 a week before he had made a single appearance for the Chelsea first team.
Those rumours were denied by the player's father and after two years out on loan in Germany, Christensen is now looking to have an impact for the right reasons.
During two loan spells with Borussia Monchengladbach, the centre-back shook off a shaky start to establish himself as one of the Bundesliga's top young defenders.
The Dane made 62 appearances during his two-year spell in the German top flight, scoring 5 goals and also gained invaluable Champions League experience.
Chelsea have been linked with new defenders all summer and recently completed the signing of Antonio Rudiger from Roma, however, if Christensen has his way Chelsea's defensive spending will stop there.
The Dane has been included in Chelsea boss Antonio Conte's pre-season tour squad.
