Atleti prepare for Bilbao amidst Diego Costa efforts

This weekend saw a moment of history for Atletico Madrid, who raised the curtains at their brand new Wanda Metropolitano stadium with a win over strugglers Malaga.

The side now prepare to travel to Athletic Bilbao and the San Mames stadium on Wednesday night.

Diego Simeone's squad were put through their paces at the Cerro del Espino facility in Madrid amidst ongoing rumours of the outfit nearing a deal for former frontman Diego Costa.

Reports in 'Marca' claimed that Atletico Madrid had submitted a final £57m offer for the wantaway Chelsea striker, a would-be record fee for the Spanish club.

Costa has yet to return to London this season, staying at his home town in Brazil. The striker hopes the deal can be wrapped up in the January transfer window, when Atleti will be free of their transfer embargo.
